2010 Michigan Odyssey Scholarship Winners Announced Posted April 16, 2010

We are pleased to present the 2009-2010 Michigan Odyssey Scholarship winners:

Paige Allie - Forest Hills Central High School (Region 10)

"Through the 11 years I have been doing Odyssey of the Mind I have learned a lot. I have learned when it is my turn to step up and do a task. I have also learned when to step back and ask for help from one of my teammates. Through triumphs and struggles I've learned that winning isn't everything. I always have my team standing at my side." Paige will be attending St. Norberts College in the fall and majoring in Elementary Education.

Sarah Gombert - East Kentwood High School (Region 4)

"Odyssey of the Mind has taught me many things through my years of participating. It has taught me to persevere through tough situations, and it has shown me how to work well with others. I've also learned to see other people?s perspectives and to work with them even when we don't always agree." Sarah will be attending the University of Michigan in the fall, majoring in Computer Science Engineering.

Brianna Jones - Corunna High School (Region 5)

"Being involved in Odyssey of the Mind since kindergarten, I can faithfully say that Odyssey is my life. My greatest lesson learned is that I am valuable. That no matter the task at hand my opinion and work is influential and means something to my teammates. Odyssey will be with me forever; its seed was planted years ago." Brianna will be attending Northern Michigan University in the fall and majoring in Secondary Education.

Jordan Martin - Forest Hills Central High School (Region 10)

"I have learned to think in a different state of mind and to solve problems creatively. I've learned that with proper research even crazy ideas can become reality. I have learned to work as a team?which is important to my future engineering career. I plan to continue participating in Odyssey while I'm in college." Jordan will be attending Michigan State University in the fall and majoring in engineering.
